Bayeux Cathedral is situated in the Normandy region of France.
Construction was begun in 1145. In 1194 a fire destroyed all but the west front of the cathedral. The body of the cathedral was rebuilt between 1194 and 1220
Consecrated in 1077, although the cathedral is basically Norman-Romansque in style, it has undergone extensive changes and embellishments since that time producing this impressive
and beautiful building.
