When thinking of French wine regions, the Languedoc does not spring readily to mind. It is, however, the most prolific wine producing region of France including the Minervois,
Corbières, Côtes de Roussillon and Coteaux du Languedoc appellations .
From the plains with countryside and sandy coastal beaches, to the more rugged Upper Languedoc meeting the Pyrenees mountains there is plenty for all tastes here.
The huge restaurant-lined Place de la Comédie is the hub of Montpellier's historic centre and is in great
contrast to the narrow streets and alleyways of the old city.
