A large part of the Normandy coast comprises sandy seaside resorts but also has areas of spectacular chalk cliffs and the important ports of Le Havre and Cherbourg.
There are many popular seaside holiday resorts including Dieppe, Fécamp, Honfleur, Trouville and Deauville
Inland is a mainly pastoral landscape divided into hedged fields with narrow roads that wend their way between them joining picturesque small towns and villages where you can find quaint and romantic holiday homes nestled in the countryside.
The town of Bayeux is known throughout the world for the remarkable Bayeux Tapestry that has survived great odds to provide an historic record of the Norman invasion of England. Bayeux also boasts an impressive cathedral.
Mont-St-Michel rises from the sea like something from a fairytale, especially when illuminated at night.
Art lovers should not miss Claude Monet's beautiful and world renowned garden at Giverny

The village consists of cottage-style houses and apartments built in the Normandy style (wood decoration, wooden shutters, slate or tile roofs), spread over a 10-hectare estate. The interiors are comfortable and tastefully decorated. For relaxation and leisure: the covered tropical Aquatic Park and its swimming pools (with whirlpools, jacuzzi and children's pool), sauna, hammam, tennis and children's playground.
It offers every diversion, from excursions to Paris, to a spot of lake fishing. You are also within easy reach of super beaches, picturesque Norman villages and some exquisite countryside.
The children will enjoy the covered pool, overlooked by the bar, with waterchute and waterslides. During high season the campsite organises entertainment and outdoor discos for all the family. The nearest beach is 500m away and the flat countryside makes this area ideal for exploring by bike.
Camping La Vallée de Deauville
Located on the Normandy coast in the Calvados region east of Caen. Deauville is a well known resort, as indeed is Trouville close by.
The neat and tidy camp site is very natural with plenty of greenery and flowers, and there is a lake where you can go fishing. Apart from the Atlantic beaches you can also enjoy fun at the camp site because there is a brand new Aquapark or swimming paradise with slides, waterfalls and rock formations. Children can also amuse themselves with computer games in the games room or in the playground.
