The Picardie region is a treasure trove of Gothic cathedrals, medieval churches, castles, imposing château and other heritage sites set in fertile agricultural countryside
and wooded valleys and with a coastline of sandy beaches.
The cathedral of Notre-Dame at Amiens, is the largest cathedral in France being twice the size of its Paris namesake.
There are 5 other cathedrals in Picardie in Beauvais, Noyon, Senlis, Soissons and Laon.
For the more active, watersports abound in coastal resorts and for the family, Picardie is home to the popular Theme Parks 'Parc Asterix' in
Plailly, 'Bagatelle Theme Park' at Merlimont and Parc-St-Paul at Beauvais.
The Le Marquenterre nature
reserve provides some 6km of marked paths and, if required provide Guided Tours to show how to observe fauna and the flora.
