Holidays in the Provence region of France

The climate of the Provence-Alps-Côte d'Azur region attracts more visitors than any other region of France with the exception of the Ile de France incorporating the French capital, Paris.

Visitors are attracted to this region all year round. The famed Riviera and other Mediterranean resorts cater for the sun-lovers and all aquatic sports whilst the varied countryside serves the walkers, cyclists etc.and those that prefer the rural way of life.

Holidaymakers are spoiled for choice with the many seaside resorts, from the famous, such as Nice to the perhaps less well known like Juan-les-Pins and Carry le Rouet.

The region abounds with picturesque 'Perched villages', the most popular being Gordes, listed as one of the most beautiful villages of France. A few kilometres from Gordes is the Village de Bories, a group of 30 beautifully restored historic dry stone huts.

In winter, snowsports bring visitors to the resorts of Isola 2000, and Serre-Chevalier in the Alps above Nice.
