As the world’s largest holiday skiing area, the Rhone Alpes caters for the widest range of winter sports in spectacular mountain scenery and has slopes ideal for both the beginner and expert.
One of the many attractions of the Rhone Alpes ski areas is that often several villages combine to become one large resort woth interconnecting ski slopes, thereby offering a variety of experiences for the visitor. The highest peak is Mont Blanc situated on the French-Italian border.
The region is served by three major international airports at Lyon, Grenoble and Saint-Etienne with fast rail links and major road networks.
Accomodation ranges from the inexpensive to luxury.
